In light of the ongoing pandemic and its financial impact, SPU is offering financial support to our residential customers. If your SPU utility account has become delinquent between the dates of April 15 and December 31, 2020 as a result of income loss, income reduction or medical expenses incurred as a direct result of COVID, you may be eligible for a one-time grant of up to $200 toward your utility balance.
SPU has issued a grant to our local CAP Agency to be used specifically for SPU residential customers in need. The CAP Agency will administer the distribution of these funds on behalf of SPU. Customers seeking assistance are to complete and submit the application below, identifying the type of financial hardship experienced and providing the appropriate documentation. The delinquency must have occurred during the pandemic; delinquencies prior to the pandemic are not eligible for grant monies.
Unlike other aid available, this support is not contingent on income thresholds. The intent is to offer support to families who have been financially affected by COVID. Please see SPU Support COVID Relief Fund Guidelines for a complete listing of rules.
Complete the short application below to begin the process for grant monies. Funding is distributed on a first-come, first- served basis until funding has been depleted. Please allow one week for processing/communications.
