Electric Residential Rebates*
SPU offers a number of rebate opportunities to our residential electric customers as part of our energy-saving conservation program. See eligible products below.
Outdoor BATTERY-POWERED Lawn Equipment/Tools (no cords, no robotics )
(Leaf Blower – $20, Trimmer or Chainsaw – $25, Push Mower – $50, Riding Mower – $100)
Notes:
- Interchangeable, combination tools will be processed under the higher rebate. Only one rebate per combo tool allowed.
- Kits with separate, multiple tools in a box qualify for individual rebates.
ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebates
(Refrigerator $75, Dishwasher $50, Clothes Washer $50)
NOTE: The ENERGY STAR designation is required for a rebate; not the yellow EnergyGuide .

Appliance Recycling
(Refrigerator and Freezers – must be in working condition at the time of recycling – $30)
Central Air Conditioning
(Minimum16.0 SEER or 15.2 SEER2 – $500)

Heat Pumps (Air and Ground Source)
(Minimum 16.0 SEER or 15.2 SEER2 – $500)
Split System Ductless Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps
(Minimum 16.0 SEER or 15.2 SEER2- $500)

Heat Pump Water Heaters
(Minimum UEF of 2.2 or 3.3, depending on system voltage – $400)

(Bulbs and Strings – max $25)

Our online process eliminates paper copy submissions.
- You’ll need to register, which does require an email address.
- After registering please select the “Customer” option and complete your profile.
- To finalize the rebate submission you will need digital copies of your invoice or receipt, ENERGY STAR labels (where applicable), SEER ratings (where applicable) and any additional documentation on the work performed/installation completed, as indicated.

Yes, ENERGY STAR Clothes Washers and Dish Washers qualify for both an electric and water rebate!
NOTE: You must be both an SPU electric and water customer, and submit to both programs to earn two rebates.

This program runs July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2028 with no carryover. Eligible purchases made between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2028 must submitted by July 15, 2028 to qualify for a rebate, per state requirements.
