This agreement should be completed if you are a landlord, owner or property management company of a rental property. In doing so, you are requesting SPU to transfer the utility services into your name when a tenant is absent. When tenants have the utilities in their name your account is inactivated. You are only responsible for usage when the account is in your name.
Why Would I Do This?
This agreement provides uninterrupted service to the service address. Without this agreement, power will be disconnected at the request of the renter/tenant upon move-out. You would then need to apply for utility services to have the power restored for cleaning, security purposes and/or showings. This agreement alleviates those steps and seamlessly keeps utility services active to the rental property.
